Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine was founded in 2005 in Kyiv in order to collect, preserve, explore and promote Ukrainian art of the ХХ – ХХІ centuries. Today it is the biggest collection of Ukrainian Modern and contemporary art in the country, representing works of more than 500 artists.

The Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine was founded in a historical part of Kyiv with a small collection, which belonged to known businessman and patron of arts Serhii Tsiupko, first exhibited there. When the number of artworks, their authors and represented artistic directions significantly increased, a decision to ‘museumficate’ the collection was made.
