On the last weekend of May, Ukrainian capital traditionally celebrates the City Day. As usual, many bright events dedicated to this holiday will take place on Kyiv streets. The grand 8-hour long concert on Khreschatyk, the main street of the capital, will surely be one of the most exciting of them. On May 27, the great show will take place on a large open-air stage near Kyiv State Administration at the address Khreschatyk, 36. On March 8, in the very beginning of spring, Ukrainians traditionally celebrate the day of all women. This date, historically dedicated to women`s rights, nowadays is also a holiday to appreciate each woman`s beauty and tenderness. On October 14, Ukrainians celebrate Defender Day in order to honor heroism and courage of brave warriors, who protect independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and to consolidate the spirit of patriotism in society. In 2017, Ukrainian Defender Day falls on Saturday, so the official holiday will be shifted to Monday, October 16. In such a way, Ukrainians are going to have three days off in a row. This year Kyiv will celebrate its 1535th birthday. All the celebrations and festivities will be happening not only on May 27th and May 28th, but for almost the whole week. There are over 30 special events planned to celebrate the capital’s birthday, which would be really tough to squeeze into these two days, so Kyiv City Council announced that the celebrations will last for several consecutive days.

Epiphany Day is an important religious holiday in Ukraine. It is celebrated on January 19th and is often referred to as Vodokhryshchi (Blessing of Water) or Yordan (Jordan River). Epiphany Day completes the winter (Christmas–New Year) festivities cycle in Ukraine.
