Almost all of us are familiar with the concept of famous Uber taxi, and Uber Eats delivery functions in the same way. In brief, Uber Eats is a location-based food delivery service, allowing users to track moving of a driver with their order from a restaurant to customer`s address with the help of mobile application. The online platform was introduced in 2015 in San Francisco, and since then it expanded its geography to tens of cities in Europe, Asia, South and North America. Nowadays, Uber Eats works in Manchester, Madrid, Warsaw and numerous other mega-cities.

Uber Eats has its own mobile application, separate from Uber taxi. However, those users who already have accounts in taxi application, will not have to register for the second time: it will be enough just to download Uber Eats app and to enter login and password used for taxi. The profile in Uber Eats will include all the information from Uber taxi application: addresses, payment details and photo.
So how does it work? The process is quite simple. The restaurants and cafes, that have become Uber Eats partners, include their names, addresses and menus to the app. The users see the list of these restaurants in the app, choose desired dishes and drinks from the menu, and after confirming an order they see an interactive map with drivers available. When one of the closest drivers takes the order, client can track driver`s way from the restaurant to the stated address. The application shows how long delivery will take considering traffic conditions, speed of a car etc. Usually Uber Eats delivery time does not exceed 30 minutes.
In some cities, Uber Eats works only in particular parts of the city, usually in the central areas. Usually food can be ordered from 11 AM to 11 PM, but in some locations time limit is more flexible. As for specifics of Uber Eats work in Kyiv, it is still to be announced.

Uber Eats provides new opportunities for drivers not only on cars, but also on bicycles, motorcycles and scooters. Some orders may be even delivered by foot. This is also great chance for Uber taxi drivers to make some money while waiting for taxi orders. Uber Eats also offers its drivers bonuses for efficient work.
The clients of Uber Eats can specify their order. For example, it is possible to add or remove particular ingredient, add cutlery sets and so on. Users may choose express delivery as well as delivery for another day.
All Uber Eats deliveries have the same price independent on food cost or distance. However, the price varies depending on the city. As an example, in Poland Uber Eats delivery costs EUR 1.9, in Wien it is EUR 2.9, and in Brussel it is EUR 2.5. The application offers welcome promo codes, so the first offer may be completely free of charge.
Uber Eats services allow to get food from restaurants that do not have their own delivery, such as well-known McDonald’s and KFC.
The service rates restaurants and drivers. The users can see the most popular restaurants with the best rates in the top of the list. There are also options to rate quality of delivery and food.
Currently Uber office in Kyiv has not officially announced launching of Uber Eats. The managers just said that they have it in their plans. However, considering that a job offer for Uber Eats chief manager has been already posted in Ukrainian media, we can wait for Uber Eats launching in the nearest months.
