Soon Kyiv will host one of the main events in the world of Ukrainian fashion – UFW, or Ukrainian Fashion Week. From the third to the eighth of February, guests will witness more than 50 shows from 55 designers, as well as presentations, special projects and lectures.
"Ukrainian Fashion Week is the place where Ukrainian becomes world-wide" – says Iryna Danylevska, the co-founder and the head of organising committee. The strategy to promote Ukrainian fashion industry and make it a crucial part of the world culture and economy is simple, yet efficient: demanding selection of brands, new show formats, new names in the world of fashion, inviting the respected international specialists.
To fulfil its mission of promoting Ukrainian fashion brands in the global professional space, UFW supports fruitful cooperation with the international professional environment. Every season journalists and photographers of the world's leading publications, stylists and buyers are invited to Kyiv for direct acquaintance with participants of UFW. This season's Ukrainian designers will be covered by Vogue USA, Vogue Italia, Vogue Russia, i-D Italy, Schön! Magazine (UK), NOWFASHION France, Elle Italia, L'Officiel France, L'Officiel Russia, ZOE Magazine Italia, Fuking Young France, Pairs Project France.
Besides, this year UFW presents a new showroom format – 180 square meters and 14 brands of clothes and accessories: ALXNDR LEN / RYBALKO, CIRCUL, FEENCHES, GRIE, HONCHARENKO, IRARO, LONA PRIST, MARSALA, THE MONOCHROME, MARSALA, NIT.KA. SNESHANA NEKH, UK DESIGN, WHITE DOG.

#Showroom will offer several zones: bar, lounge, and scene where brand presentations will take place. Every day from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M. DJ-s of the NRG Ukraine radio station will deliver the latest hits. Guests will be able to register on fashionweek.ua and receive electronic invitations, which will allow them to visit #Showroom for free from 3 to 7 February.
On the 6th of February, MASTERING SALE practical platform will be held in the Mystetsky Arsenal. The presentations of 9 experts of the Ukrainian retail industry will be devoted to the organization of effective sales in the fashion industry and will cover topics of B2C sales, online and offline sales. Then, Epson and Ukrainian Fashion Week will host the Epson Digital Fashion competition for the second time in Ukraine. The contest is held according to the international format and is focused on fashion designers who are trying to create their own authentic prints. The collection of the previous contest winner Katerina Kravchuk (KRYHITQA) will be presented as well.

In 2017, Ukrainian Fashion Week and Kyiv Smart City public initiative established the Fashion Tech Ukraine platform, which is dedicated to innovative technologies in the fashion world. Within the framework of the UFW, Fashion Tech Ukraine in the Mystetsky Arsenal will host demo-zones, presenting new technological opportunities for the fashion industry. In addition, Fashion Tech Ukraine will dwell on the issues of conscious consumption in fashion and ways to solve the problems caused by fast fashion with the help of innovative tech solutions.
