Ukrainian brand BEVZA, the resident of Ukrainian Fashion Week, presented new collection in the official schedule of New York Fashion Week. Ukrainian label Bevza by Svetlana Bevza was established in 2006. It is a well-known brand in Ukraine now making an international premier.
Bevza rose to local fame with her signature jackets and coats, sharply tailored with exaggerated shoulders and nipped waists. After showing in Ukraine for over a decade, Bevza began to present in Tbilisi a year ago. This year Bevza premiered with her new collection in New York.
Delicate and harsh elements come into play, such as the standout bulletproof vests that have been modeled off the vests used by the Ukrainian army. Bevza considers her vests very “wearable». The designer also took the plastic trend—seen on Raf Simons’s debut Calvin Klein collection for Fall 2017—one step further and created a Bubble Wrap coat.

Bevza took inspiration from the concept of protection — the fragility of our bodies, and the way we keep them safe from the world. The result was a series of minimal, tailored pieces made from wearable fabrics like sateen and cotton. The collection was exceptionally well-tailored.
