The organizers carefully selected participating countries. This year 24 countries around the world were able to present their states in London. Ukraine was presented in the international project by Masha Reva, Yana Chervinska, Ivan FROLOV, Yasya RCR KHOMENKO, LARA QUINT, Yulia Yefimtchuk+, Irina DZHUS and Moria Bernar.
Every designer presented the elements of his/her collections in a space of total installation titled Fashion School Rebels. The installation symbolizes the state of the young Ukrainian fashion, which, despite all the difficulties, makes its way towards international acknowledgement. The concept of space was designed by Masha Reva and graphic illustrator Love Curly.
For five days Fashion School Rebels installation was visited by many guests, including Sarah Mauer, the Minister of Culture of Great Britain, Barneys buyers, Avenue32, Machine A, journalists of Vice.com, ID magazine, Daily Mail and others.
IFS annual project is one of the key platforms of London Fashion Week that reflects the actual symbiosis of fashion and contemporary art. The event took place within the walls of Somerset House, one of the most prestigious museums in the world. Talent and prospects of the participants will be evaluated by the expert committee headed by Sarah Mauer (fashion critic, Vogue US contributor and "the patron of young talents" of the British Fashion Council). Fashion School Rebels Ukrainian stand entered the list of finalists and was nominated in two categories, i.e. "Best Designer" and "Best installation design."
Implementation of this important for the Ukrainian fashion project is the result of collaboration of many organizations: Ukrainian Fashion Week, Western NIS Enterprise International Fund, British Council Ukraine, British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
