Perseid Meteor Shower Watch

It's almost time for one of the best nighttime celestial shows of the year — the Perseid meteor shower, a spectacular array of shooting stars that is expected to peak late Thursday night and early Friday morning (Aug. 11 and 12). Lviv observatory is hosting a special meteor shower watch event with experienced astronomer Andriy Belinskyy. Skywatchers don't need any special equipment to watch the Perseids, except comfortable blanket and a mug of hot tea or coffee. This year the show will be even more stunning, with as many as 200 visible meteors per hour during its peak.

“Easy Rider” (1969) at Rooftop Cinema at Lviv Film Center

Lviv Film Center (LFC) has taken the art of outdoor cinema to the whole new level by offering comfy lounge or bean bag chairs and warm blankets to cozy you up for your favorite movie. On August 12th, LFC offers you “Easy Rider” (1969), the all-American classic movie about two counterculture bikers travel from Los Angeles to New Orleans in search of America.

Mykhailo Demtsiu Exhibition in Lviv

Art critics call Mykhailo Demtsiu one of the most famous and the most expensive artists of Ukraine. At the exhibition in Green Sofa art gallery visitors will have a chance to see works which will be presented for the first time as well as those ones that have been created during recent years. There will be many Carpathian, seaside landscapes and portraits in oil as well as large-sized watercolors, the new technique Demtsiu uses for creation of his masterpieces.

ALARM Graffiti festival in Lviv

Alarm Graffiti festival will take place in Lviv on August 13th - 14th, 2016. This is a second time this festival will be happening in Lviv. This festival carries an important community interest mission to provide an accessible platform for artists of all levels and backgrounds to produce, exhibit and engage with the artistic community. Alarm Graffiti Festival aim is to educate, empower and inspire younger people across Ukraine, to unlock their hidden potential and participate in the regeneration and development of their local area, whilst improving well-being.

To create this project the photographer travelled to numerous counties worldwide to capture different aspects of life of war veterans in our days. This art project was featured in
