While spring is slowly but surely creeping around the corner, we might as well enjoy the last appearance of snow — and not by scrolling hundreds of Instagram pictures, but in an active way. A weekend spent on various ski and tubing bases near Lviv is just a perfect option to do that. Let's check out the best spots for active leisure not far from the heart of West Ukraine.
Їжак Парк / Yizhak Park
Lately, tubing has become a rather popular winter sport and fashion promptly reached Ukraine. In January 2018, Їжак Парк, the largest in Ukraine tubing park, was opened near Lviv. In mere 20 kilometers from the city abundance of green nature and the longest tubing track of 500 meters hide. The track consists of several runs, so that everyone can enjoy riding the tube without long waiting in queues. Rope tow is available for those who don't want to climb back on the hill on their own. Besides, Їжак Парк has a café where visitors can try traditional Transcarpathian soup Bogrács.
Admission ticket is UAH 150 for 1 hour.
The park often changes their working hours depending on weather, but usually works Friday-Sunday from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M.

Майдан "Чарiвнi Озера" / Maydan "Charivni Ozera"
Another place for tubing, Чарiвнi Озера ("Magic Lakes") is a tourist complex that lies in some 25 kilometers away from busy Lviv in Maydan village. This place reminds many of the Carpathians with its high hills and charming landscape. Magic Lakes complex has one 650-meter track, which works well both for rookies and professionals in tubing, as well as skiing. The chair lift will help visitors to get back on the top, and a ski school is available here for those who want to learn the basics and tricks.

The complex has a hotel and 8 cottage houses for the visitors who want to stay the night. Besides, Magic Lakes offers saunas to relax in after a day of active leisure.
Admission price is UAH 350 for the whole day on Mon-Fri, and UAH 450 on weekend.

Казкова Поляна / Fairy Glade
This base was opened only two years ago but is already beloved by many rookies in Ukraine. Located in 30 kilometers away from Lviv, Казкова Поляна ("Fairy Glade") offers a 900-meter track for skiing, snowboarding, and, of course, tubing. The slopes are perfect for rookies who only learn to stand on skis, as well as children. By the way, Fairy Glade has a school with most patient instructors to teach the basics of skiing. A café located on the territory of the base will welcome those willing to warm up.
Price depends on the number of descents (5, 15, 25) and weekday: for instance, 15 descents on workdays will cost UAH 150, and UAH 310 — on the weekend.

Буковиця / Bukovytsia
Finally, the farthest from Lviv active leisure spot, Bukovytsia ski complex is actually quite close to Truskavets health resort — mere 5 kilometers away. Here, visitors are offered two tracks, 1 kilometer and 900 meters, to enjoy snowboarding and skiing. Two chair lifts, Doppelmayr and Multilift, are available for use. The place is perfect both for rookies, as Bukovytsia has a ski school, and professionals, who are welcome to use the steepest slopes. Those who want to stay for longer can stop in Boryslav, Truskavets or Skhidnytsia, which are known for their health resorts and mineral waters.

Bukovytsia ski complex works from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. on weekdays, and from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on weekends.
