September 2018 Best Concerts in Lviv

Orchestra at the concert

The beginning of autumn looks like a great opportunity to rediscover classical music in Lviv, from organ and piano to the full orchestra performance. September also has events up its sleeve for lovers of jazz and electronic music.

Paul Manandise

The abundance of French artists coming to Ukraine is not surprising – after all, September 2018 marked the beginning of the “Academic Year of France” in Ukraine. Various events will take place all over the country, and concerts are one of them.

Paul Manandise was born in Brussels and studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels. He later moved to Paris and signed deals with the local music industry company thanks to his hard work and rich tenor. However, Paul didn’t stay in France as he fell in love with a Ukrainian woman. He now resides in Ukraine and works with local composers and producers. On this concert in Lviv, Paul will present his album “Мой Рай” — the first one recorded in Ukraine.

Melodies of the Old Lviv

This concert offers guests to dive into the atmosphere of Lviv when it has not been known and has not been full of tourists as nowadays. The concert program will be focused on the classic songs that every respectful Lviv dweller used to whistle back in 1940-1950s.

In particular, you will have a chance to explore the musical tradition of Bartiary. This subculture has existed since the 1850s up to the political repressions of 1939. The young men and women had a cheerful spirit, known for jokes and immense love for their city. Nowadays, modern dwellers revive this subculture.
