February in Lviv calls for music concerts - from classic and timeless to contemporary with a mix of electronic.

Jay-Jay Johanson


Swedish singer Jay-Jay Johanson is famous for his melancholic melodies, mixed in various genres from trip-hop and electroclash to synthpop. His talent was noted by Cocteau Twins, whose co-founder Robin Guthrie took part in recording Johanson's Poison album in 2000. During his European tour, Jay-Jay Johanson will perform his best hits for Ukrainian audience for the first time in Lviv.

Pavel Gintov. Fantasy


Classical pianist Pavel Gintov began his studies of music at Kyiv Central Music School and nowadays he completes Doctoral studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. The young musician has performed on the stages of Berlin, New York, Milan, Tokyo, Moscow and this winter will visit Lviv.

Gintov will perform Fantasia and Fugue BWV 922 and Fantasia in D major by Bach, Fantasia in F minor by Mozart, Fantasia Op.77 by Beethoven, as well as music by Haydn, Chopin, Corigliano and Yakymenko.

Peer Gynt: Music of Scandinavia


Edward Grieg is a founder of the Norwegian composer's school and one of the most famous composers in the world. His music to Peer Gynt, especially In the Hall of the Mountain King, has become an immortal classic. Jan Sibelius is considered to be the main composer of Finland - he wrote more than a hundred works during his lifetime.

Music by the famous duo will be performed by pianist Dmytro Mikitin. The famous pieces like In the Hall of the Mountain King, Morning Mood, Anitra's Dance, The Death of Åse and Piano Sonata Op. 7 by Grieg and Piano Sonata Op. 12 by Jean Sibelius are included in the concert program.

Organ Videoshow


In the modern era, arts are interconnected as never before. That's why Lviv Organ Hall invites visitors to dive into the world of bright colors and spectacular sounds of the organ. The video mapping by Albert Vrubel will make the colors and images come to life on the Organ Hall walls and the immortal classics will be performed by the organist Nadiya Velychko.

The program features Holiday Toccata by Fletcher, Passacaglia e-moll by Rheinberger, Scherzo by Bossi, Trumpet tune by Johnson, Bolero concert by Lefébure-Wély, Capriccio by Surzyński, Introduction and Passacaglia by Reger and Jazz prelude by Mitchell.

Jazz Love Forever


SIVAK.Concert agency provides a jazzy intro to the main holiday of February - Saint Valentine's Day. Dwellers of Lviv are offered to enjoy the classics of jazz dedicated to the eternal theme of love. The special program featuring the greatest jazz hits is brought to Lviv by Urban Gypsy and Olha Chernyshova on the stage of Lviv National Philharmonic.

BigShow Orchestra. Broadway Hits


For one night in February, Lviv's Old Town will become Manhattan and the stage of Mariya Zankovetska Theater will turn into Broadway. The famous Polish performer Jakub Wocial, famous for his parts in Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables, RENT and Rapsodia z Demonem will take part in the new Broadway project. Guests will have a chance to hear the most famous Broadway hits from Jesus Christ Superstar and Cats to Phantom of the Opera and Color Purple on one night in Lviv.

Sax & Piano


Piazzolla's tango, Poulenc's French charm and Prokofiev fairytale mood in presentation by Saxophonist Artem Golodnyuk and pianist Julia Kompaniets as a unique palette of classic music moods. The concert will be interesting for classics and jazz fans as well as for those who adore neo-baroque and postmodern.

The premiere performance of Romeo and Juliet (Suite) by Prokofiev performed by saxophone and piano will be the cherry on top of the evening. The full program of the concert features: Suite in the old style by Schnittke, Sicilienne by Fauré, Poulenc-style Sonate by van Klaveren, Back to BACH by Misha, Cou Cou by Cockcroft, Oblivion and Fuga y Misterio by Piazzolla.
