For over 5 years the Wiz-art International Short Film Festival has been putting together the most creative Ukrainian and foreign artists with very intelligent audiences in the format of the annual festival of narrative, documentary and short films, animations, experimental films, and student works.
This year’s festival named «The First Light» celebrates the 120th anniversary of cinema art. First private screening of Lumière Brothers motion pictures took place 120 years ago, on December 28, 1896 at the Salon Indien du Grand Café in Paris. This landmark event was a presentation of 10 short films of approximately 50 seconds each. This invention has changed forever the way we imagine our world and view our imaginations. Lumière Brothers brief films were the start of a new era in the world of arts: the cinema art.
Wiz-art Lviv International Short Film Festival pursues a goal to introduce more people to the art of cinema. The organizers believe that a story driven by a genuine expression can stimulate new thoughts that have the power to promote the fundamental principles of humanism, expand creative frontiers, stimulate new levels of compassion, and even lead to social change.
