The Museum of Cheese has recently opened in Kiev and is inviting everyone to find out about the cheese-making traditions in Ukraine and follow their development in Ukraine as well as in the whole world. Visitors will be able to try and buy a farm cheese produced according to authentic original recipes.
Ukrainian farmers are now making many kinds of cheese, using milk that is produced in their small dairies: classic German ‘Telziter’ and Dutch ‘Gouda’, Italian ‘Parmesan’ and soft delicate goat cheese, as well as cheese with nutmeg, almonds, ginger or dried apricot. The visitors will also get a chance to see a collection of unique cheese knives, a replica of a cheese press according to ancient drawings of the XVIII century, the original Cheese Lottery ticket in England and an engraving of the old cheese market in Holland in 1873.
