A website for travelers TravelPulse has made the list of the top-photographed cities of the world based on the images from the Dreamstime photo stock. According to the website, the presence of the Dnipro River and some of Europe's most eye-popping architecture makes Kyiv a unique location.
The new ice arena in the Expocenter of Ukraine
The beginning of September brought exciting news for those who can't wait to grab the skates and get out on ice. The new indoors ice arena built on the territory of the Expocenter of Ukraine meets the international standards for hockey and figure skating competitions. While the arena will mostly be used by the local hockey clubs and ice skating schools, it will be opened for everyone during school breaks and holidays. For now, the schedule on the VDNG website states that the arena will work from 7 A.M. to 12 P.M. for the whole week.
Art Selfie now works in Ukraine
The popular service Google Arts&Culture is finally available in Ukraine. The Art Selfie feature created by Google analyzes the data from numerous international museums to find a look-a-like on one of the paintings. The app is available for iOS and Android for free.
The new terminal in Boryspil airport
As more and more low-cost airlines enter Ukraine, KBP Boryspil airport has finally announced the reactivation of the Terminal F, which was built in 2010 and used to tend for Ukrainian International Airlines, Air Baltic, Belavia, Lufthansa, Finnair and other companies before its work was stopped. According to the press-center of the airport, the preparation for the activation has already begun and we can expect the terminal to be opened again in spring 2019.
Roadworks and new bus stops
The new step in the reconstruction of Kyiv roads will be implemented out of the center. Thus, the Gagarin avenue located not far from the Chernihivska metro station as well as tram lines on the site will be restored by 2021. Tarasa Shevchenko square in the Obolon district will be renovated as well - a tender for the construction works will be announced on October 30. The winner of the tender has to finish the renovation by August 2021.
Finally, the City Administration plans to install new transport stops instead of the outdated ones in the span of the next two years. About 900 new stops will have the electronic schedule, a small kiosk and wooden benches. Besides, the Kyiv stops will finally meet the international standards and will be equipped with tactile tiles for the blind, first-aid kit, panic button and fire extinguisher.
Animal rights march
Kyiv activists for animal rights organize a march at the end of September. Activists will advocate for the basic yet important notions - stop the animal cruelty and popularize the kind treatment of animals from homeless to pets. The march will take place on September 30; it will start at 12 P.M. in the Taras Shevchenko Park.
