Ukrainian Railways is a fast-developing network that monthly surprises dwellers and guests of the country with its innovations and ambitious projects. Let`s check out what interesting railways news is announced in August 2018.

Volodymyr Groisman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, has said that the construction of railway express from Kyiv central railway station to Boryspil airport is already ahead of schedule. He informed that the construction of railway roads has been accomplished, and now railway platforms are being constructed in Boryspil airport near the left wing of D terminal jetway. The building works will be finished until December 1, 2018. By the way, Groisman noticed that the initial price of the project was UAH 700 million, but the government has already managed to cut down expenses and to save UAH 120 million. The new express that will be put into operation in winter will run every 30 minutes in rush hours. A ticket will cost UAH 80.
Continuing with the topic of the express between Kyiv and Borispyl airport, “Ukrzaliznytsya” (Ukrainian Railways) has just announced its plan to offer single ticket for train and airplane. Hopefully, this kind of ticket will be put on sale right after the launching of the new fast train to Boryspil in winter 2018. In such a way, travelers will not have to book two tickets – the new ticket will include both train ride to Boryspil airport and flight.

“Ukrzaliznytsya” is planning to launch a fast-speed railroad connection between Kyiv and Mykolaiv. This information has been recently announced by Evgeniy Kravtsov – the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Ukrainian Railways. However, he noticed that the launching of the new route to Mykolaiv will be possible only after electrification of Dolynska – Mykolaiv part of the railroad. In theory, this can be done by virtue of elongation of Kyiv – Kherson Intercity route. Kravtsov has also mentioned that the company is planning to do this by the end of 2018 and that such innovation will require increasing number of passenger carriages and modernization of the infrastructure.
