Perhaps the biggest news of the month is launching the new express train from Kyiv to Boryspil International Airport. The test launch took place on October 25 and was successful. Now, dwellers and guests of Kyiv will have an opportunity to get to Boryspil and back with comfort. The train will follow the route Central Railway Station - Vydubychi - Darnytsia - Terminal D, KBP. The ride will take about 35 minutes. All in all, there are 91 seats for sitting and enough space for 78 people to stand. The new express will depart every 40 minutes. The schedule might be changed from 24/7 to the one focused on day-time flights later. The ticket costs UAH 80.
The less exciting news is connected to Ukrainian International Airlines. The company followed the trend of limiting hand luggage like Wizz Air and Ryanair. Now, passengers are only allowed one piece of hand luggage (55x40x20 cm, up to 7 kg), as well as one piece of outerwear and one umbrella. Any additional accessories like a laptop, camera, books, Duty-Free goods, personal documents, should be placed inside the hand luggage. Otherwise, you will have to pay for them as an additional luggage. The new rules will apply to passengers who purchased tickets starting from November 1, with the departure date starting from 15 January 2019.
Ryanair continues to expand on the Ukrainian market. Thus, on October 30 the company launched its first flight from Lviv. The following day, three more flights from Lviv to Memmingen, Dusseldorf and Warsaw were launched as well. Finally, on November 2 Ryanair will fly from Lviv to London for the first time. Moreover, in 2019 Ernest Airlines plans to launch one more flight from Kyiv - this time to Genova. Kharkiv International Airport will also collaborate with the low-cost airline - direct flights from Kharkiv to Rome and Milan are planned to be implemented in early 2019.
Ukrainian airlines SkyUp launches several direct international flights in December 2019. Online booking is already available on the company's website. The destinations include Tbilisi, Barcelona, Sofia, and Poprad. The ticket price starts at UAH 988 to Poprad and UAH 1500 for other flights.
It's interesting to note that during merely four days in late October, 22 new flights were launched in Ukraine for the first time. Ukraine broke its own record mostly thanks to Ryanair with 17 new flights, and Wizz Air with 6 new flights from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv. We previously wrote about the new flights and schedules in detail.
